I haven't blogged in some time partly because I no longer see the need to do any writing in my personal time, partly because I use whatever personal time I have to do more worthwhile things, and partly because life, in a way, has been so fulfilling. It's already the second month of the new year, yet so much seems to have happened already, even if all the action's happening on the work front, and on the social front. When DQ was back over the past 2.5 (3?) months, we met up at least a couple of times a week to chill. I was drinking four days out of seven; last week alone I drank everyday for about eight days straight. It got to a point where I told myself that once she went back, I'd be able to return to my old lifestyle where I never drank, and I'd stop being broke. I'd also stop being as emotionally fulfilled, of course, but we're talking about hoarding money here, so who cares about fulfilment? Anyway I was wrong. DQ went back on Tuesday (after an epic weekend, I swear. Eating cake at 1.30am in a hotel suite, singing Abba in a dodgy karaoke lounge, the works) I've been missing her, but I try to make myself feel better about it by eating only fish soup at work in the name of detox. I've picked up playing the piano again. I planned nothing for my Friday, but in the end decided to force my brother and his girlfriend to meet me for dinner. They paid, naturally. We took a long walk around the east, which was very nice because this time of the year, it's cool and windy at night. Then we came home and drank Mimosas. A true sign that I am sad and lonely, because no one stays home on Friday nights and drinks with their siblings. I miss DQ. I really miss all my friends who are overseas.
