I know one good thing that comes out of our equatorial climate. We get the best nights. Cool but never chilly, and sometimes if you're lucky, there isn't the slightest hint of moisture in the air. Tonight's dinner party kicked ass. Daphne's house is gorgeous in a rustic, homely yet chill-out kind of way. We hung out in the garden eating fantastic roast lamb with parsnip and potatoes, followed by copious amounts of spiked fruit salad that's so addictive that even if you're bursting, you still want more. More mango, more watermelon, more apple. Then a huge slab of chocolate cake with butter pecan ice cream melting into it. Then more ice cream, this time straight from the tub. And sips of a mango margarita that's really just ice, cointreau and tequila. A garden party with good food (and a blender), orange flowers cascading from above you, burning posts of kerosene, and the incessant chatter of crazy ang moh men and one SPG. How perfect.
Is it any wonder that I am very, very, very happy now? Very, very happy!!!
