Since my return from Perth, I have been mildly depressed on one hand (but thank God for the rainy weather!) and incredibly busy on the other with a personal project to document the three week trip in words. I am currently approaching 5,000 words, but am only done with a third of the first draft. I am determined to plod on though, because this was a trip that is going to have some bearing on the direction my life will take from here.
It was a fantastic three weeks, easily the best three weeks of this year. Perth is my personal health farm. Everything I see reminds me of God and arouses in me a sense of how I am so blessed. Something in my head shifts and clicks into place and makes me feel at peace with myself and my life. It's exactly like in the hymn 'How Great Thou Art'. Exactly like that.

Today, we celebrated Father's Day in advance. We went out to Joo Chiat for dinner, and I discovered Little Vietnam. I wanted to take a walk and see what it was like, but my brother advised me against it. 'They'll think you're one of the call girls. The cheaper ones." I think he's hilarious, really. It took me a trip away from home to realise the way in which my family expresses its love. I think maybe my whole family should take a trip without me now, so that they too can start seeing what they've never seen before. The things that we grow blind to after years of complacency...
