The last Friday of my life as an undergraduate was great. I had lunch with a couple of friends, cheated on my test (the lecturer left the room! if that's not divine intervention, I don't know what is!), had tea with my best girl friends from uni and horsed around the hibiscus bush at the CSS corner. I've noticed that bush since I was in first year, and I've seen how it's grown bigger and bigger over the years, and it just gets prettier and prettier each time. I love those pink flowers. I love the smallish view of the water you get from the tables at the CSS corner, even if your eyes skim over quite a bit of urban-industrial wasteland to reach it. I love it on those very rare cool days when you actually feel cold sitting there directly below the fan.

Life has certainly changed since I entered uni. I entered with a heavy heart, but I hope I am going to leave on a high. It wasn't particularly stimulating while it lasted, but I concede that it was challenging, and that I certainly did learn a lot. I would never had read half the good books I've read if not for the course I chose to take. I would never have made the friends I have. I would never have gone on exchange and I would never have had the basis for comparison between the two campuses. I would never have been able to achieve a different perspective on my life. I would have had it too easy if I'd not come here and learnt that God ultimately provides for me, and that He has a plan for my life. I might have drifted away. I just know I will always miss everything good about this. God bless everyone who has shared the past three years with me :)

I saw your parents tonight, and it reminded me of just how much I miss you, and really, how proud I am of you, and how lucky I am that when you think about the future, you see me in yours.

Ten Things I Love and Admire About You

1. How you tirelessly pursue your ambitions...
2. ... always making it look so easy.
3. You show no fear.
4. The way you call me 'dear' so very uncharacteristically, just to cheer me up.
5. Your 'fuck michigan, fuck farms, fuck winter' email.
6. The way we used to write each other inventories of what we ate in a day.
7. When you let things slip sometimes, and I see the way you think.
8. You give good advice, and above that, you criticise me so damn well.
9. I know you'll never let me down.
10. I see a side of you not everyone gets to see, and I love you all the more for it.

And I just realised, I still haven't dropped your name.
