Left: Ben at 6 years (I would have only been 2 months old then!) Right: Ben today, in half his birthday suit. When I was born, he gave me a card that said '4 N G' because he didn't know how to spell my name. I can't believe he's 27 already. It seems like just yesterday that I was 4 and he was 9 and our parents took us to some ulu fishing village in Indonesia. Of all my brothers, he's the only one I've ever been on holiday with. Then there was the time we went to Cameron Highlands and he fell sick and puked everywhere. And, the time when I was chasing after him, and I had a terrible fall and cut my chin and there was so much blood that he freaked out and ran away. Today I still bear that scar, which is always going to be a reminder of my folly and his cowardice. Hah. Nonetheless I hope he has a fanastic year ahead, and I sure as hell hope he never sees this or I'm going to have to change my blog address again.

As it is, I have very little faith in getting through this semester and passing all my classes. I don't attend my sociology class and I certainly don't do my readings. I rock up to physics but find myself incapable of grasping anything even if I were to pay attention. It is beyond my means to devote myself to all 5 modules--all the time I have is spent trying to stay on top of my lit readings. I seriously doubt this is what education is about. So now we've been informed that instead of doing the required 2 presentations this semester, Anthony and I both have to do 3 because our class is too small and there aren't enough pairs to cover the material. So because we were unlucky enough to end up in the smallest tutorial group, we each have to read 3 novels to get the same 20% that other students in other classes are reading 2 novels for. This is so fucking unfair, I want to cry.
I really really hate school.
