It's been an amazing year between the hellos and goodbyes. Similarly this year was just a span of 365 days between the hellos and goodbyes to come. There are no resolutions for now. Life is short; carpe diem. I'm ready. I can't wait. Bring it on!

The Sperm WhaleOh my God, I'm 21. I can no longer secretly gloat that unlike most of my girlfriends, I'm still young. But every age has its beauty, and I am excited at the prospect of the lessons I will learn, the things I will see, the places I will go in the coming year that will make me a different person. Hopefully a better person. And really, I
am still young.
We had some great laughs last night. Ian clogged his arteries with cream, people looked on and laughed as Greg apparently got 'snubbed' by Lisa, Karen and Barry got into a public slugfest about their voices (we should hold a squeak-off! I want to watch!), we played Taboo and learnt that Chunky wears K-Y jelly to look good and attract girls.
I am thankful for the people who showed up last night despite the bad weather, for those who spent hours in front of the fire so we all had food to eat, for the boys who stepped out and stayed up to help do all kinds of mundane things just so I could enjoy myself playing host, for the girls who spent the day with me preparing for the party and putting up with my frustration.
And to someone who may not read this, but if you do you'll know who you are: thank you for staying in the country to be with me, for going out of your way to make sure I didn't get pissed off, for driving me everywhere and carrying all sorts of junk about on my behalf.
