So Sui came and left. Time flies so fast that I am immensely comforted by the prospect of not having to wait long at all before seeing family and friends once again. Especially my family, who (which?? that??) is constantly on my thoughts these days. Maybe I've been reading too much Virginia Woolf but I seem to have tunnelled my way back into my past, recalling the days when I was growing up, the lessons I've learnt, my brothers as they themselves were growing up and the paths they've since taken, my parents and how they've done so much for the family. Being here has had the effect of distancing me from a life I took for granted and giving me a very different perspective of every little detail, and now all I want to do is embrace and cherish it
with them, not away from them. I can be such a nostalgic fuck sometimes. Oh well.
Honestly, apart from whinging about how I miss home or measuring how my blessing cups runneth over, I don't have much to say anymore. The holidays so far have been quite good. I have life-long hemorrhoids from my 10km cycling stint (rocks and fine sand henceforth the new banes of my existence), arms four shades darker than my legs, too much dirty laundry and a significantly less solid bank balance. Here's pictorial evidence that I don't just study.
