Meeting Johann has taught me how to reflect on my life and see how incidents in the past have possibly influenced the person I have become. While on one hand I am hesitant to attribute elements of the present to the past, and in doing so give far too credit much to things which really aren't worth thinking about anymore, I'm also interested in just how much potential a single event has to screw you over later on in life.
Anyway, the events of the past week (it
has been an intense week) have taught me one thing. I am once again at that point in my life where I'm celebrating singlehood and wearing its badge proudly. The lesson that I've learnt is that there is really no point bemoaning my sad marital status, or lack thereof. Let's face it. I'm not your generic submissive female. I bust balls and shred egos, I refuse to sugarcoat my words and suffer fools. Till the day I meet someone who's really worth the trouble one takes in getting involved and investing in a full-on relationship, someone who bowls me over, I think I'm just going to accept the present for what it is and enjoy being the young, unfettered tyrant that I am.
My life is my own. And that's one hell of a GREAT feeling.
