Stepping out of your comfort zone pays off. Sure, for every oddball I meet whom I can't connect with, I meet someone else who can actually understands that when I call him a diva because he doesn't want to eat pizza for two consecutive meals, I don't mean it offensively at all.
Had Craft Day today with some friends' friends and bonded over batik. Also, I went clubbing for the first time in ages, but it didn't feel like I'd been away for a long time. For a place that I go to only about four or five times a year, it felt pretty damn familiar. I was really pleased to see someone from class, and I dunno what made me just call out to her and I suppose that made all the difference. Making the first move (not necessarily in the romantic sense) isn't a bad thing after all!
So for all the drinking I did last night and tonight, detox starts tomorrow. It's been such a fabulous past couple of days and I want to thank Him for it. For the many blessings and opportunities I have been given, which show that I have the capacity to expand beyond the self that is defined moment to moment, by this person or that event. I am not a static being. I think I am slowly making that step from being a person whose identity hinges on the people of this world and its measures of success to... something else. I remember a wise woman once said, I am in this world, but I am not of this world.
No one has to know it but me and my God. Life is indeed good.
