The highlight of my day was bumping into Lofty not once but twice. Once as we pulled up to the traffic light and he was perched next to us on his bicycle. And later again, in the wine aisle of Cold Storage.
We joined him by the canal outside Siglap Centre for a drink. (But I did not drink.) We talked till sun-down and the moon had come up. The moon started out as a sliver, then slowly it filled out to become one whole. Really big at first. Then smaller and smaller. And orange.
He wants me to come over some time. Come over as opposed to go back. I didn't tell him when he asked, that the reason why I haven't been back in so long is because I never felt welcome by him anymore. But hey, he remembers my name. He remembers how I won't eat anything off the table. I actually
do miss him. But more than that I miss our batch (the ones who matter), and it's awful thinking about how we're scattered around the world at this very moment.
Maybe I'll come over some time.
