Last night I dreamt that I had to put together a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle, something that I would (in reality) find a terrifyingly mundane task. But when I opened the box and started to arrange each little piece, I found that they were already in a few large completed sections. So I took each section apart, only to put them together again in the same spot. Which of course took the puzzle out of the jigsaw.
When I woke up, I realised that perhaps I have spent far too much time scrutinizing every detail in my life and frantically tearing at every little thing--unnecessarily. Maybe everything's already in place, but I've been so caught up obsessing with trivial things that I've completely missed the big picture, and forgotten to appreciate the many other things that are already working so well.
Ending off with a random question...
What's the difference between making eye contact and stealing glances? If the person you're stealing glances at makes eye contact with you, does that mean he's stealing glances at you too?

As much as it sounds like a cliche, getting to know different people and listening to them can open you up to new things and new ways of seeing the world. I've heard some pretty interesting ideas of late.
Raymon says that people who spend lots of time together start feeding off each other. A good explanation for why bitchy people find each other, and how single, desperate and horny vibes can spread amongst a group and create a sense of solidarity.
And Saffry tells me that sometimes your old friends think they know you too well so they start making comments that support their own belief systems of you. Indeed. I have come to realise that the length of time you've known someone, or the depth with which you know someone, does not equate to you knowing everything about that person... or even coming close to understanding them.
Like Char Lin says, when God closes one door, He opens another. I need to focus more on the doors that have opened, and less on those that have slammed shut. I think someday everything will be alright again.
