Now I know - rambutan juice, 7 up and martini go not go. Sometimes it's all just about complementing tastes. Tomato and parsley. Rocket and lemon. Maybe that's what our relationships with people should be like - Amy Tan described it well; she calls it two halves creating one whole. Two imperfect halves, jagged around the edges, sometimes sharp and sometimes contoured, but nonetheless coming together to meld so completely. One half lifting the other up where the other is down, strengths coming in to smoothen and fill out the holes where there are flaws. Making a team.

I miss the old days. They are a strong enough testament to the fact that one single burning passion is all it takes to hold two, four, or twenty people together. There's nothing like that moment, when two strangers on a precipice find one sliver of common ground. These moments get rarer, but when they come they're golden. My problem is I'm always going for the gold and for perfection. Yet I can't see any other way that I would do well with.
And come to think of it, just because you don't throw away everything for history's sake, doesn't mean you're going to be making any more of it.
